The new release of visual Basic 2010 was packed with the .net frame work 4.0 which was released earlier and now Microsoft has made it download available which might be integrated for the new release of microsofts release of windows service pack 1The .NET Framework 4 works side by side with older Framework versions. Applications that are based on earlier versions of the Framework will continue to run on the version targeted by default.
The Microsoft .NET Framework 4 provides the following new features and improvements:
- Improvements in Common Language Runtime (CLR) and Base Class Library (BCL)
- Innovations in the Visual Basic and C# languages, for example statement lambdas, implicit line continuations, dynamic dispatch, and named/optional parameters.
- Improvements in Data Access and Modeling
- Enhancements to ASP.NET
- Improvements in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
- etc.....
Microsoft .NET Framework 4 requires at least Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1 and will run on both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of those operating systems.
